Exercise Dilemma
Last night for dinner we enjoyed the Gumbo that we made on Sunday night. The picture is kinda blurry.
I ate it with some left over cheese toast that we had made for our French onion soup. It was a little thick, but I think it was a successful first attempt at making it ourselves.
I also ate a fun size Kit Kat bar, but decided not to take a picture. Do you care about see a picture of the Kit Kat bar I ate? I think no.
So now to my exercise dilemma. I hate to exercise. I hate it with a passion. I don’t feel like I get any kind of post exercise glow. I feel like it is a hassle to work into my schedule after I have been working all day and then need to cook dinner. Not to mention having to keep the house clean, another thing I really don’t like.
Also, because I have an extensive knee replacement I feel like I am really limited. I can’t run. It is starting to get too cold and dark to walk outside, not that I did that often anyways. I would love to do more yoga and Pilates but I get frustrated when I can’t figure out how to modify the poses to account for my seriously limited flexion in my left knee, which is only about 90*. I have a stationary bike and an elliptical machine at home, both of which I find incredibly boring.
I got a membership to an aquatic center and tried swimming, but I gave that up when school started and all of the swim teams started taking over the pool, plus the thought of getting into a cool pool at this point of the year makes me cold to think about it. And I am often too cheap to pay for a membership or a class because I am too inconsistent and end up wasting my money.
What is a girl like me to do? I know I need to exercise. It is good for me, and considering my body has endured chemo that can have long term affects on my body I really need to take care. Also, I like to eat what I want. I know you have to be smart about eating, but if I want a hamburger I am going to have a hamburger. Plus I love Coca-Cola.
I am going to try to do better with my motivation to exercise. If you have any suggestions to help me out, please pass them on. My Wii is definitely going to give me a hard time tonight. Boo.
