Friday Night Out

2010 January 16
by Jessie

Hey There! I have been out and about since I got home from work yesterday. No time to sit at my computer to blog.

On my way home from work yesterday I stopped by Harris Teeter to pick up some brownie mix. I have been craving some caramel brownies ever since I read Kristen’s post about her Caramel Witch Brownie. Yum. And I thought dinner at my cousins was a perfect opportunity to make some brownies.  I was short on time so I didn’t even consider making them from scratch.

As soon as the brownies came out of the oven we hit the road to head to Amy’s place. Trying to be good guests we brought a bottle of wine.  Unfortunately there were some issues with Amy’s wine bottle opener.

The guys tried using a wrench to get the bottle open. No luck. We ended having to go to a neighbors place and ask to borrow their bottle opener.

Amy had to work late so her boyfriend Tad got dinner all ready for us.

DSCN1483We started with salad.

I was so hungry that I almost licked my bowl. Not to mention the salad was deelish.

Aren’t Amy’s plates cute?

Now to the main course.

Homemade chicken pot pie.

It was so good that I went back for seconds.

And of course, brownies for dessert.

DSCN1497 After dinner the guys decided that it was time to play some corn hole.

DSCN1503 I though it was cold outside so I borrowed some of Amy’s stuff to bundle up.

I rocked some moccasins with white socks. Not pretty, but very warm.

DSCN1504 Plus a hoodie underneath my fleece. I stayed cozy and warm the whole time we were outside playing. Unfortunately being warm did not help me play any better. This was my first time playing corn hole and I sucked. Oh well, I had so much fun.

By the way. Meet Amy.

DSCN1505I can’t wait to get together again. We all had so much fun!

We got home later than usual last night (because we act like we are 80) so we were beat when we got home. I slept in until 9:30. Waking up late kind of put a cramp in my day because I had a ton of stuff I wanted to do. After showering and all that good stuff I didn’t head out the door until almost 11.

I hadn’t eaten anything so I brought a snack for the road. DSCN1509

My first stop was Target, and guess what I found.

DSCN1510Popchips and they were on sale! I ended up eating the whole bag through the course of the day. Oops!

After Target I was starving so I ran by Harris Teeter to pick up some lunch. I was trying to decide between a salad and sushi.

Sushi won.

I ate my lunch while sitting in the parking lot of Home Depot.

I only made it through about 4 pieces before I decided that I wasn’t feeling the sushi. I peeled my orange and then headed into the store. I was shopping around for an herb garden and didn’t find anything I was interested in.

After Home Depot I went to meet a friend at her new house. She just bought it and is working on fixing it up. So exiting. The house is going to look awesome. Jennifer has great style and will definitely make it her own. It makes me so jealous!

After leaving Jennifer’s I made a few more stops, including Lowe’s where I did find some herb stuff that caught my attention.

Now I am at home and playing with my new goodies. Including this tripod I got at Target.

DSCN1521And munching on leftover brownies. DSCN1515 Now I have to run so Brian and I can decide where we want to go to dinner.
