As you may have seen, August 30th was me and B’s 2nd anniversary. Since we have some big travel plans for the fall, hell0 San Francisco, we decided it was best to keep our celebrations local. So we went on Priceline and bid for a 4 star hotel here in Charlotte with plans to spend our anniversary weekend uptown.
We were excited when we got a great rate at the Westin.
We were a little disappointed when we saw our view of the city. This was definitely one of those you-get-what-you-pay-for kind of views. It’s okay though, its not like we planned on spending our weekend looking out the window.
I did ride up to the 20th floor to get some decent shots of the city though.
I would post a picture of the room, but I was too ashamed to eve take a picture. We had the room covered in our stuff in 2 minutes flat. Bags, clothes, food covering all of the modern, polished surfaces of the room.
I did however take a picture of the shower. The tub was in the shower stall and there was a huge window letting in a ton of light. I had to be sure to close the shade though because we had a nice view of the light rail platform and visa versa.
I loved the double shower head. It was like getting a massage in the shower.
I would have liked to test out the tub and have a nice soak after some of our activities (no nothing dirty, you will see) but the water came out brown! We notified the front desk and they were very responsive. I was very pleased with their customer service.
It is amazing how staying in a hotel can make a trip in your own town feel like a vacation. Have you ever done a stay-cation in your own town?
