If I told you I had big plans for my anniversary weekend what would you have guessed I had planned? Tickets to a play? Surprising my husband with Panthers tickets? A super expensive dinner at an expensive restaurant uptown? Nope, my big plans were a bike rental.
B used to be really active and would like to be more active but he chooses to hang out with me instead. When it comes to really physical activities I tend to shy away because I am afraid I will hurt my knee or that my knee will hinder me from completing an activity. One such activity is bike riding.
B has been wanting to go bike riding for ages but I have been scared. Also, I didn’t want to spend money on a bike that I might not ride. In comes Charlotte NC Tours.
As soon as B and I decided to book a room uptown for the weekend I knew what I wanted to try to do. Someone had referred me to Charlotte NC Tours for their segway tours but I was only interested in one thing (thanks Brittney). Bike rentals! I though it would be a great surprise for Brian.
Charlotte NC Tours in located right across the street from the main entrance of the Nascar Hall of Fame which was a very short walk from our hotel.

After trying out both bikes that they had to offer (hybrid and a mountain bikes) I decided I was most comfortable on the hybrid. Plus, it had a basket to carry around my water bottle and any other items we happened to collect throughout the day.
We road all around Charlotte. We found hidden parks…or parks that we had never heard of or seen before, at least.
We checked out some local art. I was particularly fond of this piece. I guess it would be considered a sculpture, right?
We may have tied up the bikes to stop and have a drink or two at a few places. At the last place, I checked my pockets for the lock key to find that I had lost it! Good thing we hadn’t locked up the bikes yet or we would have had a loooooong walk back to the hotel.
After we got home I tried to map out our route. This is just what I could remember. Looks like we covered at least 12 hilly miles all over the Charlotte uptown area.
After four hours riding around town I was a hot and tired mess. But there was no rest for the weary because it was almost dinner time.
